BC Twilight Fans Unite!

I am beyond excited to be teaching ENC 1102 (English Comp 2) as part of a Learning Community with PHI 2600 (Ethics). The title? The Ethical Vampire: reWriting and reThinking the Twilight Series. It will be cool. Very cool.

Here's a flyer, in case you're interested (and I do hope you're interested!)
NOTE: Students who wish to take this course MUST register for both courses in the Learning Community (LC). If you want to know more about what Learning Communities are, click here. Or, you can visit BC's South Campus LC Blog.

For my end of the Learning Community (ENC 1102), here are the books you'll need:
  • Twilight
  • New Moon
  • Eclipse
  • Breaking Dawn
  • Twilight and Philosophy
Yes, we're going to read all the books. But as any TwiHard fan can tell you, they're an easy read. We're going to use the ethical lens to conduct a literary analysis of the series, and we're also going to talk about what's good (and what's not so good) about the series and the movies. We might even put Team Edward and Team Jacob (and Team Bella?) to the ultimate, ethical test!

And if all goes well, we might even be able to sneak in a "field trip" towards the end of the semester to catch Part 1 of the film version of Breaking Dawn.

(Coming Soon: a more detailed course preview)

So TwiHard fans, c'mon over!
